Amy Foggett is from Cramlington and has been a patient for a number of years.
My name is Amy Foggett. I am 28 years old and I am a community and sports development officer. I have hyper mobility Syndrome, Fibromyalgia and Developmental Dysplasia of the Right Hip.
I have suffered with chronic pain and injuries due to the above for the last 15 years. It had a major impact on my life, I spent most of my teenage life having operations on my knees and constant physiotherapy to try and help the symptoms but to no avail. So medication was the only thing that helped. I went to see a chiropractor when I was 22. He explained how he could not cure my conditions but could give me a better quality of life by treating the symptoms. This chiropractor was moving away and I became extremely concerned about who would continue my treatment.
My chiropractor advised me that he had spoken to Duncan Rockett and thought that he would be the best person to see.
Duncan now plays a vital part in my life. In the past 3 years I feel that both Duncan and I have learned a lot about my conditions and how to treat them. I now understand why injuries happen and how to try and prevent them.
A great deal of my pain and problems come from my pelvis and hips being unstable, this causes problems throughout my body causing back pain, neck pain and headaches. I sometimes get severe headaches which only clear up with cranial chiropractic. During my time as Duncan’s patient he has helped me on a number of occasions, sometimes my recovery can take along time so it is sometimes frustrating for us both, but he keeps me positive and never tells me there is nothing he can do for me. I understand that I will never be completely pain free, but as promised my chiropractor gives me quality of life and enables me to live my life in the best possible way.
